The Child Abuse Prevention Center Training Program
The CAP Center is a statewide training, education research and resource center dedicated to strengthening children, families, and communities.
The Child Abuse Prevention Center Training Program
The CAP Center provides a variety of child safety, child abuse prevention and child advocacy trainings to community-based organizations, local governments, school staff, and community members.
The Child Abuse Prevention Center Training Program
The CAP Center Training Team will tailor existing trainings to fit your organizational needs or work with you to develop a training specific to your organization.
The Child Abuse Prevention Center Training Program
The Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training (MCART) focuses on the legal responsibilities of mandated reporters to report known or suspected child abuse and neglect in California. Following the training, participants will be able to recognize “red flags” of the different types of abuse and neglect, and how to submit a Suspected Child Abuse Report (SCAR) to the appropriate authorities.
The Child Abuse Prevention Center Training Program
In the Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) and the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) trainings, participants will understand state and federal laws pertaining to CSA and CSEC and how to identify “red flags”. Following the training, participants will be able to differentiate between red flags and typical developmental behaviors of children, report suspicion or knowledge of CSA/CSEC, use trauma informed language and child friendly communication strategies, and identify community resources for children and families.
The Child Abuse Prevention Center Training Program
For over 40 years, The Child Abuse Prevention Center has been a state, national and international service, training, advocacy and resource center dedicated to protecting children and building healthy families. Known as the CAP Center and located in Sacramento, California, it is home to several unique agencies. Each agency takes a different but complementary approach to preventing child abuse by providing an array of programs to build strong families and keep children safe.
The Child Abuse Prevention Center Training Program
The CAP Center strives to build a statewide network of individuals, public policymakers and collaborative agencies dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect in all its forms. We monitor public policy and endeavor to influence public policy, programs, and practices that strengthen families and protect children. We achieve this by regularly distributing information regarding child abuse prevention initiatives, activities, legislation, and campaigns.
